Conception

The idea of the project was to organize an open-air architectural festival «Archstoyanie” on the territory of village Nicola-Lenivets and national park «Ugra” located in Kaluga region. The festival is aimed at development of the village and national park «Ugra” via realization of art and socio-cultural programs. Nicola-Lenivets and the neighboring area are already famous as a unique Russian art-territory, inspiring famous artists and local inhabitants to fruitful cooperation. The target of the festival is to bring this cooperation to a higher level due to participation of Moscow architects, «land art” experts and local people and to gain a new understanding of life in the contemporary village. During the festival 10 well-known architects from Moscow objects in «land-art” genre, which is very common in the West but only becoming popular in Russia. The participants must keep to the following conditions: the objects are to be constructed from natural, ecologically compatible materials and to be built by local people. (the participation in art-projects has already become a kind of new occupation and self-actualization for inhabitants of neighboring villages). A three-day forum and introduction of the objects to general public will become the culmination of the festival.
Within the framework of the forum there will be organized master classes of the leading Russian architects and performances of contemporary artists. All the guests of the festival will get an opportunity to have an excursion around Nicola-Lenivets, to try the local cuisine and to have an overnight stop in the neighboring village or in the camping. 
The results of work and will be discussed at the expert seminar «ArchUgra”. The aim of the seminar is to analyze the experience gained by curators, artists and architects and to evaluate how the event has influenced the life and the outlook of the local society.

.Socialization of people from local villages via realization of architect and art projects
.Development of Nikola-Lenivets via modern cultural practice.
.Organization of a new creative and communication zone
.Introduction of new art-technology, which could strengthen the rural identity<
Tasks:
.To draw the public attention to the problems of modern village and environmental problems, resulting from contamination, destruction and barbarous use of natural recourses.
.To establish on the territory of Nicola-Lenivets an experimental site for art and architectural creative works with natural materials.
.To realize team art-projects, to initiate cultural events in the village, to create innovative art and landmark objects.
.To share land-art practice experience with the dwellers of another towns
.To create architectural and art objects
.To carry out a three-day forum and an expert seminar «ArchUgra”
