invasion: Mixed reality
Archstoyanie 2010. Summer
Starting with Wittgenstein there is a common view that reality is a text and this theory is called ‘linguistic turn’. Text is intended for reading and discovering of other extra reality offered for decoding. Thus there is all possible information about around world in Torah. The state of contemporary human could be characterized as posthermeneutical as there is no necessity to find out any other reality beyond any text. An image is not equal to reality anymore, it does not have mimetic character, but becomes a pure cognition instrument, a form of existing inside the reality. You can look on the image, chose some part of it, cluck it with computer mouse and find out yourself in other space.
Three-dimensional Descartes' grid of references is superimposed on natural landscape. Inside the grid there are trees, paths which the festival visitors can use. In a way the project demonstrates mixed spread reality of contemporary man. He turns out to be inside the structure and outside and eventually nowhere. Generally speaking I deal with problems concerned with investigation of the stage of human evolution we face nowadays, which called in western literature a human condition.
